1. Controller

RankNow GmbH (in formation), Berlin. Contact: hello@theranknow.com. A data protection officer will be appointed where legally required and named here once appointed.

2. Data we collect

Account data (email, name, agency you belong to) provided at sign-in. Usage data (pages visited, agent runs triggered) for product analytics. Project data you supply (domain, keyword lists, content briefs, drafts) for use by the agents you authorize.

3. Lawful basis

Article 6(1)(b) DSGVO — performance of the contract you enter when you create an account. Article 6(1)(f) — legitimate interest in product analytics, balanced against your privacy. We do not rely on consent (6(1)(a)) for core service functionality.

4. Sub-processors

We use sub-processors for hosting (Hetzner Online GmbH, Germany), email delivery (Resend EU), error monitoring (Sentry, EU region), and the AI model providers powering the agents (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, Perplexity). The current list will be maintained on this page and updated when it changes.

5. International transfers

Where sub-processors are based outside the EU/EEA, transfers occur under Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) per Article 46 DSGVO.

6. Retention

Account data is retained for the lifetime of the account and 30 days after deletion to permit recovery. Agent run logs are retained for 12 months for cost accounting and debugging. Audit-trail entries (Phase 7) are retained per applicable regulatory requirements.

7. Your rights

Articles 15–22 DSGVO grant you rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and objection. Email hello@theranknow.com to exercise any of these. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

8. Cookies

We use a small number of strictly necessary cookies for authentication and session management. Analytics cookies require consent and will be added behind a CMP banner before public launch.
